Another Afro-Guyanese GECOM official has been arrested, Police announced on Tuesday. The latest arrest brings the total number of black, GECOM semployees arrested to 7.

Arrested is Duarte Hetsberger, the Personal Assistant to Chief Elections Officer, Keith Lowenfield. Hetsberger is also a Guyana Defence Force Lieutenant on secondment to GECOM.
According to Police, 39 year old Hetseberger was arrested for alleged criminal conduct” in connection with the March 2, 2020 elections.

GNN understands that Bharrat Jagdeo and Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn have been directing the Police who to arrest. Assistant Police Commissioner Clifton Hicken and Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum are allegedly conducting the witch hunt on behalf of the PPP regime.

Police are refusing to investigate the over 4500 cases of voter inperson committed on behalf of the PPP by some Returning Officers and Presiding Officers.
