Junior Allen, age 39 years a self-employed man of lot 97 Plantation Profit, West Coast Berbice (WCB) today, January 6, 2022 appeared virtually before before Magistrate Ms. A George to answer the charge of Manslaughter.

He was arrested on December 31, last for the March 2018 for the alleged killing of Leon Delph at Buxton Line top.

The matter has since been postponed to February 3, for statements.

Meanwhile Police on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, picked up an unidentified street dweller who was found dead at the Leonora Market West Coast Demerara (WCD).

According to reports, the deceased would usually be in the market where he would also sleep.

Enquires have since disclosed that a resident reported that while at home that morning, he heard someone shout out his name.

As a result he came out of his house and his handyman told him that a street dweller was chopped up in the market.

As he was heading into the market he saw an identifiable male whom he knows frequent the market area on a daily basis, with a cutlass in his hand walking away from the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital by relatives where he succumbed to the injuries, while being treated by a doctor on duty at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

The deceased was examined and wounds were seen to his head, hands and shoulder.

Checks were made for the suspect but he was not located. Investigations are in progress.
